Last Sunday, over 100 million people tuned in to watch the Superbowl – one of the more popular sports events in the world.
For those of you who aren’t into sports – the Superbowl is the game that determines the champion of the National Football League (NFL) for any given season.
In the US, the game is a big deal. This year, advertisers paid over $5 million for 30 seconds of advertising during the broadcast, and the half-time performers were Jennifer Lopez and Shakira.
Although I generally don’t follow sports, I find American football interesting because the game is very much like the world of investing.
Just like football has TV commentators describing the moment-by-moment battles of the players on the field, financial news anchors on channels like Bloomberg or CNBC spend all day debating the moves and strategies of large corporations.
And whereas raving sports fans purchase tickets to go see their favorite team, raving business fans buy shares of their favorite company like Tesla or Apple.
But just as most people lose when their favorite team doesn’t win, or their stock doesn’t go up in value, the real winners in both the game of sports and investing are those who make money no matter who wins the game or where the market goes.
For example, just as sports have bookmakers, financial markets have brokers who place your bets for you – no matter what happens to stock prices.
And outside the arena, opportunists sell overpriced tickets to those who didn’t get in on time, the same way brokers or financial salespeople sell overpriced opportunities to people who are late to the party.
What all these people have in common is that they’re closer to the action than the average person.
In other words, they’re insiders.
And just like it’s true in sports, it’s true in investing.
To get access to outstanding investments, you want to be as close as possible to the inside – so you can get in on the action at the ground floor – before everyone else does, and in deals that no one else can access.
Most of us know intuitively know that in life, the people on the inside get the better deals – whether that’s an employee discount at a clothing store, a better-priced car, house or even entrance to a club.
Investing is no different.
To get the great deals, you can’t invest as an outsider along with everyone else. You have to become an insider.
That means you’ll be able to buy businesses at a huge discount to what they’re trading for publicly; buy alongside early investors before a business takes off or gain access to private high-yield loans.
Years ago, Wiet and I invested resources in getting access to these deals. Since then, we’ve invested alongside governments, high-profile investors and institutional investors in private deals, closed to the public.
A lot of these investments have been extremely rewarding – way outside the realm of what’s possible in public investment markets.
That’s why one of the foundational pillars that we teach the members of our Mastermind is how to build a high-value international network of investors and entrepreneurs who can give you access to deals most people can’t touch.
As Wiet told you last week, we’ll be opening up access to our private network in a few weeks.
Until now, our Mastermind has been available only to people in our immediate personal network.
But by request from the members, we’ve decided to turn this private group into our flagship service open to entrepreneurs who want a step-by-step plan to becoming entrepreneur-investors.
More to come soon.
To freedom,
